I love my kids but.....

The girls eating carrots from our garden, in my bed!

I love my kids but I would really like to be able to take a shower without them standing there and watching me the whole time.

I love my kids but I would really like to take just one bath without them climbing in the tub.

I love my kids but I would really like to be able to cook a meal without burning myself because I am being hit with a dishtowel, having my clothing pulled on or asked to do ten things at once.

I love my kids but I would love to be able to get them dressed on time, so that I can get dressed on time, so that I don't have to leave the house a wet head all the time.

I love my kids but I would really love it if they just did what I asked the first time.

I love my kids but I would really love it if they just did what I asked by the third time.

I love my kids but I would really love it if they just did what said ever.

I love my kids but I would love it if they didn't climb on the massage table (when I was being treated for an arm injury) and try to ride me like a horse and pull off the sheets.

I love my kids but I would really love to be able to use the bathroom with being stared at, asked to read a book, answer a question, put on someone's socks or deal with a 5 year old yelling outside the door.

I love my kids but I would really like to make a phone call, just one phone call, without a symphony of yelling or requests, the minute I press dial.

I love my kids but I would really love it if I could go out for mama time without crying and begging to go too.

I love my kids but I would really love it if they didn't tear up the living room five minutes after I spent an hour organizing things.

I love my kids but I would love it if they would let me sleep in late one morning (and not call for me to come and get them out of bed.)

I love my kids and there really is no but about that. And I know that one day, these things shall pass.
(and then it'll be a whole set of new things!)

17!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Havana is now 17! One more year until she reaches that milestone adulthood birthday. And while she is in her last year of childhood, Havana ...
