Spring Break '23

Spring break was two months ago!  It feels so much longer. There has been so much going on with nana, school, work, health, just life in general but our time with family during the Spring break was a much needed getaway. The girls got to spend time with cousins, see Nana, their bio grandfather and met their amazing Tia Martha.   We also got to eat some great food, swim under the warm sun and relish being away from the daily grind of schedules and responsibilities. I did have to take care of Nana stuff but it was a bit more managable without having to be on the clock.  There is something to be said for unscheduled time off, to just allow whatever is to happen to unfold naturally.

In order to make the trip to Florida, we had to juggle the timing, as the girls had opposite weeks off. So each small gem missed a few days of school.  But the rational was that family time was just as important as academic time.  It has been years since the two small gems saw their cousins and there were a few cousins and family they had never met.

It was a mostly good trip. Teens are teens so there are ups and downs.  I have my moments as well. But overall, it was very sweet to be with our family and to make some new memories.
