Wanderer's Way

I had been anticipating the Waldorf School's Wanderer's Way for some time now. Last year didn't work for our family but this year I made sure I cleared the calender for October 25th and I got on the phone early enough to reserve our spots. The Wanderer's Way felt like something the girls, especially Havana with her imaginative self, would really love. And they did. It was a sweet, magical evening.
First we were met by the Fairy Queen who greeted and then blessed us with pixie dust.

The event was outdoors, in the quiet of the early nighttime. The dark skys and the soft lighthing created an enchanting journey for the little people.

We walked along a path, where we met different people, all whom had something to share. Sometimes we were met with a song, sometimes a silly jesters jokes, other times a gypsy with her fortunes for our future.

Amara's buddy Juliet joined us on our journey through the Wanderers Way. Here the two are trying on clown noses that
they were gifted by a clown who attempted to be a ghost (but was found out when he was too scared of ghosts!)

The children were given little trinkets at the end of each short performance.
The girls loved all of them but the gold coins from the silly squirrel were their favorite by far!

Make New Friends But Keep The Old.....

....that is the song we sing at each Girl Scout meeting. These lyrics are especially appropriate for Amara right now, as she misses two of her closest gal pals from Ellerhorst. This weekend she was able to spend time with Juliet when she joined us for the Wanderers Way at the Waldorf School. Amara then celebrated with Belen at her birthday party the next day.

Switching schools provided Amara with several life lessons; perhaps the most important is that when you are connected to a person it doesn't matter what school they go to or where they live;  she is learning that the heart connection lives on. I pray that Amara (and Havana) will always remember this crucial life lesson that they are learning so early in life.

Havana Ballerina (& Gymnast) - Part 3

A year ago, we did pre-ballet and gymnastic classes. When the session ended we decided to try a music class. Havana loved both classes but when it came time to pick one class she opted to return to dance/gymnastics. She has improved a bit since last year and has made some new friends which makes class even more appealing.

And here a few from exactly a year ago! Oh, how Havana has grown and changed!

Pumpkin Patch

After much deliberation on which pumpkin patch to visit this year (we were trying to be mindful of time, resources and distance), we decided on going back to Larry's Produce. When we went last Fall it was small and simple but we still had a good time. This year, we were surprised by Larry's as they expanded the family fun to not only include the hay tunnel but they had tractors to climb, corn kernels to play in and lots of other interesting attractions for little people. And even though we grew a few pumpkins of our own, we still left with one we picked from the patch. That and some of the produce that Larry's grows.  It was a fun family outing for all!
