Our time in and around Mandalay showed us a culture steeped in rich Buddhist traditions, remote village ways of life mixed in with more modern lifestyles and natural beauty surrounding it all. All of these things which fed the soul and open our minds.
Whether visiting one of the many monasteries or pagodas, witnessing daily life or enjoying local cuisine, we knew we were experiencing something special and sacred.

U Bein Bridge, Amarapura. The oldest and longest teak bridge in the world. For some reason (I think fussy kids!), I did not take a full photo of the bridge. But it was overcast that day so the lightning was not good. |
