Tahitian TikTok

During our very hard day, we stopped at an agriculture high school. There were some very friendly and curious students there. Somehow we heard 'tiktok' and before we knew it (and with some encouragement on my end), Amara and a local girl made a tiktok. Normally, I am not a fan of this platform but when young people from two very different cultures connect, when they don't speak the same language but somehow manage to communicate enough that one teachers the other a dance, it was a pretty stand out travel experience.

Amara was nervous to start with but when she left she said, "that was fun" and she even got her new friends tiktok account so they could connect at a later day.  These moments, they are why I bring my two small gems on travel adventures. You meet new people, you push yourself and you end up growing, learning and making some great memories.

These high schooler were quite social media savvy. And, they had to show me how to airdrop my photos to theirs. They were funny, friendly and smart.
