Sunflowers

There is just something,

about sunflowers,

that makes my heart happy;

their bright yellow;

so tall;

so vibrant;

so open;

and exposed;

for all to see;

their beauty.

Master Gardner Don planted sunflower seeds that the girls and I picked up earlier in the summer and took diligence in helping them grow.

Our whole family is now worshiping at their stalks!

  1. Beautiful photos! While we don't grow many of them on our farm, they are still one of our favorites! Our kids love them because they grow so fast and usually 'house' a praying mantis on each and every big flower. My favorite part is drying the heads and roasting the seeds! I've found that a good variety for seed roasting is the Russian Mammoth variety if you're ever so inclined.
