Iguazu Falls

Iguazu Falls is one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World (or at least was a few years back; I think the list changes) and while during my reasearch on the falls I saw some photos, nothing could prepare for seeing them in person. The falls are not in focus in the above photo but those following capture some of the breathtaking majesty of these sacred place.

This is only one view of the falls. We were told multiple times that the view from the Brazil side would leave a person speechless. If this view left us in awe, I can only imagine what the scene from the other side was like. Thankfully, we got to witness several view points from the Argentine side.
The picture is not blurry; it's the mist from the falls. It was close to 95 degrees and humid in the tropical north so getting wet felt very good.

The falls were not the only attraction. There were a few trails that allowed us to catch glimpses of some wildlife and foliage. The rain forest is so rich with life.

I had never seen so many different species of butterflies.

It was hot and there were tons of people and Havana refused to walk; again! Papa Don had to carry her most of the way up.
Papa Don was quite relieved when we saw this sign on the lower trail!

This creature, the coati, is cute but a nuisance. They have been fed to often by humans and so they get too close.

We ran into our new friends from the airport!

This is a view from the Sheraton hotel in the park. The falls are quite a distance away and yet the mist can be seen so clearly.  They are that huge and powerful.
