Puetro Iguazu

Two days after we touched down in Buenos Aires the rain clouds dissipated and the sun emerged. Just in time for our journey to the far north where the borders of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil meet. Puetro Iguazu, a small town in the rainforest and home to one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World would be our home for four days.

We made some new friends on the hour and a half line at the airport. Virginia and her children, were super nice and we then saw multiple times on our trip. Thanks to Facebook we will keep in touch.

Fresh Air

Fresh local produce.

A cutter leaf ant carrying a leaf
The nest;  the pieces of green leaf in the hole and on top of the hole are pieces of leaves being carried by large ants.

Tracking the ants on their march home!

Someone's driveway.

An indigenous brother who was selling local crafts. I don't think these feathers were local though!
Havana and I bought bags.

Amara choose an arrow.
The ferry landing on the Paraguay side.(The round colored cement cone in the left top are from the Paraguay flag).

Foz do Iguazu, Brazil in the background.

Brazil (you can see the triangle with the colors on Brazil in the background).

We could see the river that separated the three countries from our hotel balcony. It was a lovely view. Here is the ferry that transports cars and people to and fro.

This was a birds nest. We saw the mama collecting food and bringing it back to her babies.

One of my two favorite flowers.

The city was red; red earth; red buildings. It reminded both Don and I of Mandeville, Jamaica.

The second of my favorite flowers.

It was 98 degrees in the afternoons in the North; Pool time in the afternoon and helado after dinner were the perfect ways to cool down!
